ΑΝΑΛΗΨΗ
Στήν ἀνηφόρα
τοῦ ἄγριου Βουνοῦ
ἔρχεται ὥρα
ν’ ἀπειλήσει Πάγος
τό μονοπάτι τοῦ Θεοῦ
Μόνον ἐκεῖνοι
πού τά πόδια τους
ἁρπάξανε Φωτιά
μποροῦν νά συνεχίσουν
τήν ἀνηφοριά
Καθώς ὁ Πάγος
λιώνει πρέπει
τώρα νά σκεφτεῖς :
ἄν πίσω θά στραφεῖς
ἤ θά πνιγεῖς
μές στῆς ἀγάπης
τήν πλημμύρα
πού ἀνεβαίνει
Ἄν κάτω νά σέ φέρουν
τά νερά ἀφεθεῖς
ὥς τό βυθό
πού στό σταυρό
στέκουνε δίπλα
ἀνέλπιδοι
χαμένοι
οἱ ἀτιμασμένοι
Κουράγιο ξάφνου
δίνοντας τά χέρια σου
ἁπλώνονται στήν ἄγριαν
αὐτήν ἀνάβασή τους
ἡ ἴδια πού εἶναι
ἡ Ἀνάληψή σου !
ASCENSION
There comes a point in ascending
the wild mountain of God
where the path becomes ice.
Only those may continue
whose feet have caught fire.
One decides
as the ice melts
whether to turn back
or be drowned in the rising
flood-waters of love,
brought low
to the bottom
where those lost without hope
stand at the cross.
Suddenly you find yourself
with outstretched hands
encouraging their ascent
and discover it is your own.
